Innovation Strategies
In recent years QAL has become increasingly involved in the education space, working and collaborating with learning institutions to drive business outcomes and provide valuable real-word experiences for students.Examples of these collaborative relationships include:
- MOUs with Griffith, Bond, James Cook and Southern Cross universities, along with Gold Coast TAFE.
- Aerospace Gateway Schools Program. This program supports the development of the aviation industry by providing opportunities for students to undertake workplace learning, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, and full-time employment.
- Involvement in the creation of the Southern Cross University Hackathon. This event provides students with the opportunity to develop solutions to existing challenges at Gold Coast Airport. Students gain real-world experience and play a part in providing a solution adopted by the airport. Southern Cross and Bond universities and TAFE students took part.
- Ongoing internship and work experience program which sees QAL support high school and university students through the provision of onsite tours, on-the-job experiences and internship placements across the many departments within the business.
