Mount Isa Airport

Mount Isa Airport is the gateway to outback North West Queensland, located in the heart of one of the world’s most significant multi-mineral deposits.

Mount Isa’s passenger mix is predominantly business-based, with that group accounting for approximately 82 per cent of all travel, largely due to the fly-in fly-out (FIFO) market.

Mount Isa Airport was privatised by the Federal Government in February 2005.

Mount Isa City covers an area of over 43,310 square kilometres, making it geographically the second largest city in Australia to Kalgoorlie - Boulder in Western Australia. With a population of over 32,000, Mount Isa is a major service centre for North West Queensland.
