Airport Master Plans

The Airport Master Plan (MP) is a forward-thinking land use plan which covers a 20 year period with a mandate to review every five years in line with the Airports Act and must be submitted to the Federal Minister for approval.

The current Gold Coast Airport MP was approved by the Minister in December 2006, with the next MP due in 2011.

The current Townsville MP was approved in 2004 and the next MP was due in 2009. The Minister has extended the period of currency of the existing plan pending finalisation of Defence noise impact assessments.
