Gold Coast Airport

GCAL pax 2003-2007 graphGold Coast Airport (GCAPL) has demonstrated a capacity to capitalise on the structural changes in the Australian aviation industry which have occurred since 2001. Furthermore its ability to derive gains from these changes was the decision to focus on the leisure and "low cost" sector. Gold Coast Airport was awarded Low Cost Airport of the Year 2007 by the Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA). The Airport is now the 6th busiest domestic airport in Australia, with a record number of 3.75 million  passengers in the 2006/2007 financial year.

The Airport has adopted a ‘hub’ strategy, positioning itself as a low cost hub in the Asia Pacific Region. Gold Coast Airport offers international airport facilities and quick turn-arounds for low-cost airlines to connect services to and from the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.  The airport offers a short-haul network for international airlines with over 300 flights a week domestically and in New Zealand.
